More than 5,000 hotel rooms are set to open in the Philippines’ capital city over the next five years, according to a new report.

The Philippines Hotel Construction Overview report by TOPHOTELPROJECTS prepared exclusively for The Hotel Show Philippines, opening Wednesday (02-05th August 2017), identifies a total 17 hotel projects with 5,841 rooms are in the vision, planning, construction and pre-opening stages throughout Manila.

The majority of the new projects will open in 2018, set to be a particularly busy year, with nine hotel openings scheduled. The most active brands for hotel construction across the city at present include major international hotel chains Westin Hotels & Resorts and Grand Hyatt.

“Manila, one of the world’s largest and busiest cities, is establishing itself as a luxury destination with global hotel and resort brands expanding their businesses and residing in the capital,” commented John Suzara, Event Manager of The Hotel Show Philippines. “This is one of the core reasons that we are introducing The Hotel Show to the market in Asia here for the first time.”

The Hotel Show was established 18 years ago in Dubai, UAE and remains the largest, longest-standing and most comprehensive hospitality trade show in the Middle East and Africa.

“The inaugural The Hotel Show Philippines is taking the legacy of The Hotel Show Dubai and giving it a local flavor,” Suzara added. “As with the Dubai event, the Manila edition will showcase the core products and services needed to build, develop and maintain a hotel or restaurant.”
